Jerry Wisz
PGA Director of Golf
Jerry has been the Head Golf Professional at Alhambra Golf Course since 1983. Administrative duties have taken him away from teaching on a daily schedule, he limits his teaching to primarily long-time students and six lessons each week on weekday mornings and afternoons.
As an accomplished player, Jerry was both an All-American and NCAA National Champion. He was also the Southern California PGA Champion and has played the Asian Tour, U.S. Open, PGA Championship, Los Angeles Open, Buick San Diego Open and Senior PGA Championship on the PGA Tour.
Jerry's personality is reflected in his teaching method. A quieter, slow paced approach, he watches the student hit balls for several minutes, then begins asking questions and interacting with the students answers. Jerry teaches by "position", meaning, by coaching the student to achieve desired positions with the golf club, ball striking will improve.
